Warehouse Associate – Amazon Fulfillment Center (USA)
Job Overview:
Join the Amazon team and play a key role in delivering fast, reliable service to customers. As a Warehouse Associate, you’ll be working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your responsibilities will include selecting, packing, and shipping customer orders—sometimes for super-fast delivery services (within 2 hours). This physically demanding role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in various warehouse conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Handling: Receive, put away, and organize inventory to ensure smooth operations.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Shipping Preparation: Load boxes into trucks for timely delivery.
- Scanning & Quality Control: Use scanners to read barcodes and follow instructions on screens to ensure the accuracy and quality of orders.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot issues as they arise during the fulfillment process.
- Equipment Use: Operate power industrial trucks (PIT), such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and work at heights up to 35 feet. Training and certification for operating these machines are provided free of charge.
- Physical Tasks: Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, reaching, and walking. You’ll also use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other tools to move inventory.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds.
- Ability to push utility carts weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to operate equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 40 feet (when applicable).
- Adhere to safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards.
Working Environment:
- Physical Demands: Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking, or climbing stairs. You’ll be working around moving machinery such as order pickers, forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts.
- Temperature Variations: The temperature in the warehouse may vary between 60°F to 90°F, with occasional temperature extremes over 90°F in some areas (e.g., truck yards).
- Noise Levels: The work environment can be noisy at times, with hearing protection provided if necessary.
